Mechanical Systems
Modern custom homes live and breathe through their mechanical systems. They are the quiet, beating heart that keeps everything running smoothly. At Beaconsfield Construction, we design and coordinate high-performance heating, cooling, plumbing, ventilation and electrical systems that we’re proud to stand behind, so your home stays comfortable, efficient and future-ready.
Generator & Propane
The intensity and frequency of recent extreme weather events (the effects of climate change) are putting our houses under more stress than ever before. Depending on the generator capacity chosen, a generator will run during utility outages, keeping your house dry and safe (and even warm if a full-house electrical load system is installed).
A buried propane tank offers more capacity, and more flexibility in terms of installation with respect to municipal zoning regulations, than above-ground multiple tanks installations.
Mechanical Rooms
All the mechanical systems of a new home always lead directly to the mechanical room!
Building science has grown leaps and bounds in recent years. And so has the complexity and range of options now being installed into new homes, such as:
- Municipal water and sewage systems connections
- Internal pressurized water distribution, water metering
- Hot-water tank(s) & recirculation system;
- Main electrical distributions and metering, disconnects and surge compression, heat-tracing controls
- Generator system
- Ground-water control and evacuation, pump-stations, pluviale connections
- Managing heating, cooling and humidity levels, along with fresh air quality
- Radiant concrete floors (hydronic)
- Controllable & zoned interior lighting systems,
- Supplied data, WIFI and connectivity set-ups
- Fireplaces, and generators, which require propane
- Televisions and multi-zone-house sound systems
- Alarm & camera systems,
- Vacuum system
- Remote-controlled motorized blinds
- Exterior requirements such as pool and spas,
Each house’s mechanical room is unique in size and layout, as it brings together all the critical systems which makes your house function efficiently and safely.
Planning for a new mechanical room actually starts before excavation even starts.
At Beaconsfield Construction, we take great pride in laying out and implementing a spic-and-span and well-organized mechanical room which, our clients tell us, soon becomes one of the mandatory highlights for their guests when giving new home tours!
Septic Systems
Septic installations are installed in municipalities having no centrally collected below-street sewage systems. This is often the case off island (from the west of Montreal Island) and in the cottage world. However, here on the island, the municipality of Baie d’Urfe and Senneville, all houses have septic systems on larger lots. Many home-owners prefer this approach.
At Beaconsfield Construction, we are very knowledgeable about the building requirements and additional planning needed for a house which will be served by a septic system.
